Heart racing. World narrowing. The fear that something is medically wrong even when you’ve been told it’s panic. Friends mean well, but “just breathe” can feel dismissive when your body is already in alarm.
A peer space where other people name the same spiral can make the next wave a little less lonely.
Shizuka’s Anxiety & Stress community is a free mental health forum space for panic attacks, overthinking, and everyday dread. You can read quietly first. When you post, you stay behind a username — no real name required.
Many people also read the panic attacks guide in the Knowledge Center before joining a thread.
Peers can sit with you through the fear of the next attack and share what helped them in the moment. They cannot diagnose you or replace emergency care. If chest pain or symptoms feel new and scary, get medical help. If you’re in crisis, use crisis resources first.
You don’t have to wait until you have the perfect words. “I’m scared of the next one” is enough.
Others in the community have shared similar experiences.
No. It’s peer support. It can sit beside professional care but does not treat panic disorder.
Yes. Lurking is welcome. Many people read for weeks before sharing.
Shizuka is a peer-support platform. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline.
