My partner doesn't understand my depression and it's lonely
Posted Jul 23
He says he wants to help but his version of helping is suggesting I go for a run or 'look on the bright side.' I know he means well. I also know he doesn't get what it's like when getting out of bed is the whole victory for the day. I feel lonely inside a relationship that's otherwise good. I don't want to educate him constantly, but I also can't keep pretending his advice lands. Has anyone found a way to bridge this gap with a well-meaning partner?
